Overall organization spending on Air Express had spun out of control, was regularly driving cost overruns for the company, and had become a major source of concern for the Chief Financial Officer.
The Action Plan
7th Man Analytics analyzed a large set of distribution data and segmented Air Express spend by resource group within the client’s organization. Problem areas were quickly identified, and the client determined that immediate action was necessary to curb “non-customer-related” use of Air Express.
The Outcome
Our client implemented new organizational controls and behaviors on Air Express and reduced usage by 75%. Examples included shipping sales samples to reps well in advance of trade shows (Air to Ground) and shipping internal orders to branch offices versus reps’ residences (Residential rates to Commercial).
